GATHERINGS & SOCIAL CONNECTION
We celebrate holidays, share meals, mark turning points, and play together.
SENDOFF FOR GARLAND AND LINDAAfter more than thirteen years as residents of and participants in Sand River, Garland and Linda made the move to Indiana to be closer to family and friends. The community hosted a gathering and celebration in January 2024 that included a potluck brunch as well as a keepsake photo album and calendar. Linda's sweet congeniality and Garland's wit are missed.

Residents brought additional food. It was a perfect late spring day.
DECEMBER EVENTS 2022In appreciation of residents Joan, Mary, and Eleonor, who begin a new chapter, a pizza party was held in early December. On Winter Solstice, a gathering took place to welcome our 2022 recent residents Jackie, Kathy, Nancy Ce, Summer, and Taylar, followed by dancing for those who stayed to cleanup (photos by Sandra). On Christmas, Del, Jill, Karen, Kathy, and Marvel prepared farolitos (traditional New Mexico lanterns, constructed of paper bags, sand, and candles, which are customarily used to light the way of the Holy Family at Christmas as well as for sacred and social events). The group then created an evening farolito walk in the heart of the community.
JOHN & KAREN'S ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
In mid-August 2022 on their 50th anniversary, John and Karen invited the community to join them in a re-creation of their wedding brunch. Much laughter, celebration, and good food was enjoyed by all who attended.
